The Expansion Project to provide the much needed additional exhibition space for the HKCEC is well underway with the first main steel truss in place and the second truss under assembly on site.

Wong & Ouyang Group is the architect, Civil & Structural Engineer and Building Services Engineer for the project. The 33-month design and build contract is awarded to Hip Hing-Ngo Kee Joint Venture in May 2006 to provide around 20,000 s.m. more exhibition space for the HKCEC at the former Atrium Link area.

One of the major milestones of the project is the inauguration of the temporary passageway linking the two existing phases of the HKCEC in June 2007. The passageway enables the Atrium Link to be de-commissioned and modified to house the Extension while maintaining the circulation between the two phases.
