The Architectural Services Department has awarded the Design & Build Contract for the Prince of Wales Hospital Extension Block to the Hsin Chong-Yau Lee Joint Venture with Wong & Ouyang (HK) Ltd. as the Architectural Consultant.

The Project is to replace the core facilities in the existing regional acute hospital main block with a new building of about 800 beds and shall provide Accident and Emergency Services, Radiology, Operating Theatres, Intensive Care Unit, Burns Surgery, Wards and supporting facilities.

The site is at the existing temporary carpark and helipad on the north side of the Hospital complex. Construction cost is HK$1.65 Billion and the completion date is October 2009.
