North Commercial District (NCD) is a piece of land to the north-east of the existing airport terminal building. The total site area of NCD is about 14 hectares. This area has been designated to become a new commercial hub. Wong & Ouyang was commissioned by the client to master plan the parcels which will be the 1st Phase Retail Development.

In this exercise, we proposed to integrate all the NCD parcels via a shopping street at the bridge level (L2). The design concept is to create a retail, dining and entertainment destination that is uniquely Hong Kong and uniquely Lantau. The design allows freedom for each land parcel to realize their development aspiration, operation and management philosophy.
