THE HKJC NEW HAPPY VALLEY CLUBHOUSE, Hong Kong

New Happy Valley Clubhouse is the core component of the clubhouse facility enhancement project to The Hong Kong Jockey Club’s clubhouse complex “The Hilltop in the Valley”.

Aims of the redevelopment and associated alterations are to increase the club capacity in Happy Valley and to improve the variety of facility offerings for members in order to meet the Club’s long term business strategy.

Wong & Ouyang (HK) Ltd. was appointed as the Executive Architect and Authorized Person in late 2014 with collaboration with INARC as the Lead Design Consultant. Overall redevelopment and the associated alterations to the existing clubhouse are scheduled to be opened to members by mid-2020.

New Happy Valley Clubhouse comprises a twelve-storey building on the land of previous stable block with an approximate 46,600s.m. of new construction floor area (including 3 levels of over 250 new car parking spaces), redevelopment of public open space of minimum 5,000s.m. (Shan Kwong Road Park), slope improvement works within public open space, improvement works to government road junctions, a new annex block linking the new redeveloped block to the existing clubhouse building, extensive back-of-house facilities and areas supporting the daily operations of the whole complex.

Apart from new food and beverage establishments offering wide range of dining experience and cuisine variety, sports and recreational facilities including 4 open tennis courts, a 6-lane 50m indoor swimming pool, golf training facilities, gym and multi-purpose body training studios, bowling lanes, indoor children’s play area, children’s interest and recreational classes, stables, musical and performance entertainment areas are also provided inside new clubhouse.
