Tom TN CHEUNG

DIRECTOR

Tom Cheung is a Director with more than 25 years of experience and one of Wong & Ouyang’s healthcare team leaders. He joined the practice in 1996 and since then, has completed large-scale hospitals for the Hospital Authority and Architectural Services Department.

Tom has extensive experience in hospital projects. He was in charge of the Caritas Medical Centre Phase 2 Redevelopment, a 268-beds hospital in Shamshuipo which was completed in 2015. As part of the Hospital Authority’s 10-year Hospital Development Plan, he has carried out Technical Feasibility Study for the Redevelopment of Grantham Hospital and the New Acute Hospital at Kai Tak. He worked on the Prince of Wales Hospital Extension and the CUHK Medical Centre. Tom is currently the Project Director in charge of the United Christian Hospital Expansion project.

During his 15 years of experience in local hospital projects, Tom led the team at all stages of the project from inception to construction. Through participation in the user consultation process, he gained a clinical perspective of the design process from project visioning, master planning down to schematic and detail design. He has a comprehensive understanding of the hospital development process in Hong Kong, particularly in liaison with hospital management/administration and medical staff on realization of operational and design requirements.

Besides his specialization in hospitals, Tom has also gained experience in residential, commercial and institutional projects for other clients such as the Housing Authority, Housing Society as well as private developers.

Tom is a HKIA member, a Registered Architect, an Authorized Person and a BEAM Professional. He holds degrees in architecture and a Master degree in Real Estate.
